Is it possible to include our ears in this question? At this time of year, I also feel the beauty by hearing the birds twitter and call out - with alleluias and praises to our Creator!

Yes! I love to hear birdsong around the neighborhood too.

My husband and I were talking about John Muir this morning and his words on the hunger for natural beauty. In looking up the exact quote, we discovered your words. Thank you for your reminder of the deep hunger in our souls for beauty and for the maker of all that is beautiful.

The place where I sit to contemplate in the mornings and other spaces where I often meditate take advantage of views - the opportunity to see, hear, and observe nature. This is what so often moves me into union with God, the observance of Creation and its boundless variation and beauty!

Yes. A place with a view helps so much. One of my favorites is the ocean horizon. It gives me a sense of God’s limitless expanse!

I live within walking distance of the Atlantic… and I know what you mean! The sound of the ocean doesn’t hurt either 😊
