Thank you again! So good. . Love this hope-filled line: “With God’s grace and our wise effort we can move away from self-fixation”

That’s a good summary of vice for me: the reality and outcome of self fixation. It’s being in curvatus, right?! And the hope for the future? So well balanced : grace (God acting to help me accomplish what I cannot alone, per DW) and wise effort. Thank you! Can’t wait for this book!

Thanks Lynnette!

You're right. Incurvatus in se describes a life lived "inward" for oneself rather than "outward" for God and others. Transformation is a partnership between God and ourselves. It's a relationship. And one of the skills we have to learn is how to make our effort "wise." We usually begin our training journey with effort but it's more infant-like. It takes years before we learn how to "wisely" train with spiritual practices. Navigating the gap between now and then is full of ups and downs. Great seeing you at RēGathering!
